ASPRS
Highlights
"Mountains
of Data.... Peak Decisions" was the logical theme of
this year's well-attended American Society for
Photogrammetry & Remote Sensing (ASPRS) Annual
Conference in Denver, Colorado May 23-27. With the
snow-capped peaks of the Rockies clearly visible outside,
there was plenty to keep the record-setting 1,900
participants indoors (as evidenced by the 92-page
program). Numerous exhibits spread out across two halls
offered a glimpse into the state-of-the-art, and Ahmed
Noor provided a highly entertaining, interesting, and
thought-provoking keynote on future uses of today's
cutting-edge technologies (see our sister online
publication GIS Monitor, www.gismonitor.com, for details).
Of great importance to ASPRS members, the organization
celebrated its 70th anniversary with a simulated
"burning" of the now paid-off mortgage for its
corporate headquarters. Our congrats!
