Many of today's environmental and geological consultants, attorneys, scientists, real estate professionals, financial institutions and insurance companies need photographic documentation or aerial photo interpretation of their project areas. An aerial photography search service has compiled a database of existing historic aerial photographs from over 470 sources nationwide. These historical photographs, some of which date back to the 1920s, come from a national network of private aerial photo contractors who have retained their original photo negatives. An up-to-date record of aerial photographs available through various government agencies including the Department of Agriculture (USDA), the National Archives, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), and the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
