About EOM Earth Observation Magazine (EOM) - The magazine for geographic, mapping, Earth information is the leading journal integrating all of the GeoTechnologies and applying them to the myriad vertical markets that can benefit from these technologies. EOM circulates to 17,500 professionals involved in mapping, remote sensing, GPS, GIS in many vertical industries such as engineering, environmental, forestry, urban planning, utilities, petroleum, mining, and local, state and federal government. From the first publication of Earth Observation Magazine in 1992, our objective was, and remains, to help grow the industry by exposing new users to the benefits of GIS, Remote Sensing, Mapping, GPS and Photogrammetry. Our approach has been to send EOM to professionals involved in agriculture, civil engineering, environment, mining, petroleum, real estate, telecommunications, utilities, etc. At EOM, we've observed that as the number of tools available to mapping and GIS professionals increase, and, as the ranks of these technicians expand, user-based questions are being raised that need precise answers. To respond to this changing, evolving market, EOM is expanding its coverage of the GeoTechnologies to include straightforward, in-depth, user-oriented feature articles covering all the nitty-gritty questions on data importing, exporting; merging files; converting files; as well as how to expand the functionality of a program through accessing other resources. If the question has been asked, we intend to address it through our expanded coverage. Also, with the proliferation of geographic data and information sources such as satellite imagery, digital aerial photography, digital topographic and vector data, there is a great need to inform professionals from all disciplines as to the benefits of these information sources and how to best put them to use within any given application.
